This virtual workshop provides a hands-on introduction to the Brain Image Library (BIL) Analysis Ecosystem and demonstrates how to access data for in-place computing. The session is designed for individuals interested in exploring or utilizing the microscopy data contributed to BIL.

Topics include:

  • Overview of the data hosted in BIL and strategies for data discovery
  • Accessing BIL resources for in-place data exploration
  • Using the BIL Analysis Ecosystem to run Jupyter notebooks, visualize data, and perform analyses with a variety of software tools

This virtual workshop presents a hands-on walk-through of the data submission process and how to use the BIL Analysis Ecosystem for pre-submission exploration, sharing, and processing. The targeted audience for the workshop includes data submitters, PI's, data managers, and microscopy lab personnel. Topics covered include:

  • Overview of BIL data scope and available resources for data submitters
  • Hands-on introduction to the BIL data submission process
  • Steps to obtain data submission access
  • Using the submission portal to enter and manage metadata
  • Transferring and uploading data to BIL

Spatial Omics Workshop May 12-16, 2025 The Brain Image Library (BIL), Human BioMolecular Atlas Program (HuBMAP), Common Fund Data Ecosystem (CFDE), Giotto, SPArrOW and Harpy teams held a Spatial Omics virtual workshop. Participants were introduced to spatial omics technologies, Giotto, Sparrow and Harpy tools and used PSC’s HPC System to explore real-world spatial expression data generated by the BRAIN Initiative and HuBMAP projects.
